The Brief

Enhance recent refurbishment of the club by adding shade and shelter for the comfort of staff and members.

The Details

The British Club in Bangkok, Thailand embarked on a refurbishment carried out in a number of stages. After the reconstruction of one of the main buildings, our client involved us in the second stage to further enhance the spaces to better protect members and staff from the sun and rain.

The Pizza restaurant by the pool was made all-weather with the addition of a Pergola using Sunbreaker Louvres. These are motorised to easily move the blades to match the weather conditions. Flexyscreens were then seamlessly added to the sides of the structure to enable the whole restaurant to be closed off when not in use, with the added benefit of providing shade from the prevailing sun when needed.

Casablanca Awnings were also utilised to protect a busy pathway from the rain and sun. These can easily be retracted when not required.

Two External Venetians were also provided to protect the squash courts from the westerly sun.

The resulting solution has enabled the staff and members to better utilise their outdoor spaces in comfort, and in all weathers.
