The Brief

This substantial Hampton residence required a privacy and solar screening solution for the upper level of the pool-facing elevation. With floor-to-ceiling glazing opening directly onto the pool deck below, the homeowners needed a way to screen the upper storey from neighbouring sightlines without compromising the open, light-filled character of the home.

The Details

The Sunbreaker Vertical Louvres were installed across the full length of the upper level facade, running in continuous bays between the structural columns and spanning the entire poolside elevation. The scale of this installation is impressive – the louvres extend from one end of the building to the other, creating a unified screen that gives the upper storey a strong, resolved architectural presence when viewed from the pool and garden below.

Finished in Anthracite Grey to complement the dark render facade and charcoal structural columns, the louvres sit flush within the upper panel of the building and reflect cleanly in the pool surface on sunny days. The blade spacing allows filtered light and airflow to pass through while providing the privacy the brief required.

This is a standout example of the Sunbreaker Vertical Louvre used at residential scale to solve a real functional problem while significantly elevating the appearance of the home.

Installation

The louvres were installed in multiple bays across the full width of the upper level poolside elevation, with blades fixed between the top and bottom rails within each structural bay. The continuous run required precise alignment across the entire length of the facade to ensure a consistent blade spacing and level finish from end to end.
