The Brief
Find a way to capture and follow the sun throughout the day using a cost effective solution for utilising space and providing all weather protection.
The Details
The solution to the brief was to use a combination of products with an electronically controlled cover of the pergola allowing the client to seamlessly integrate their indoor and outdoor areas for complete comfort all year round.
This was acheived by installing a motorised SB 400 Pergola, along with four Flexy Screens discretely fitted to both ends and front of the Pergola. This meant no additional structure was required.
The product was installed underneath the spouting which required us to design and create specially engineered brackets to accommodate the motor.
Our client also wished to take advantage of the rainwater coming off the roof, so we modified our deisgn to efficiantly capture the water from the guttering and enable it to flow through the legs of the Pergola and into a water catchment tank. Very environmentally friendly!
To provide a seamless look across the whole structure, the Flexy Screen frames were powder coated to match the Pergola colour.
The resulting solution has enabled the client to better utilise their outdoor space to entertain and take advantage of sea views even on a rainy day, and collect a bit more water.
